Regular readers would know that we have long defended the fact that we do not need a standalone iOS or Android app: our responsive web pages work perfectly on any device and look and behave like an app if you want, including the ability to call and text colleagues directly from your screen. This approach has worked well over many years to ensure everyone always has access to all our features while keeping our development and support costs down.
But in the immortal lyrics of E^ST, all things in life are momentary, temporary, transient, impermanent, fugitive, short-lived and fleeting. Coming at the end of March we will have an app.
Initially to be launched on iOS and then followed by Android, it will provide the features that most users require most of the time: the ability to see and manage their own shifts, see other hospital rosters, manage leave and select shifts on self-rosters. See some screenshots below.
We will let everyone know when it is available to download from the App store in due course.
